May 24 RES Contest ============================== Sat, 24 May began clear, still and warm with some lift over the houses and the river tree line. Later the wind gusted more from theSW and made the N Ridge productive. By awards time we had to use Tor's truck as a wind barrier in front of the scorers table. Landings were a lot of fun in later rounds with 20 mph gusts and poly planes that don't penetrate. I counted 3 off-field landings and some serious pilot pucker as they tried to reach back to the field. Doug Brusig was again Chef Supreme with dogs and burgers while Bob Eagan did the Costco run for condiments,do-nuts,chips and a 5 year supply of plates and napkins. After a brief demo. Most of the pilots were able to use this equipment. Pete Hinze made sure we survived by sterilizing the utensils- a job he shouldn't have to do after a long day of line retriever duty. We were able to share some extra food with the free flight people who were using the SW corner. BOBB Saturday May 24 results poly RES 2 Meter novice =================================== l.
